A Perfect Clown Wedding

Clown Wedding at West Beach by the Rock

It was the perfect day; the sun was shining, birds were singing, family and friends were gathered together waiting in anticipation for Bob and Kellie to exchange their marital vows on the beautiful shores of White Rock Beach in BC Canada. As the wedding party approached down the promenade followed by various spectators the faint sound of carnival music could be heard, while bubbles danced in merriment around them.

Family and friends were now standing and straining their eyesight to confirm they were seeing what they thought they saw. Like a beautiful fall collage, the wedding party sauntered in style towards the ceremony area; now giggles could be heard coming from the guests. Why…. well the wedding party was in full clown, lead by the best women, Korki, Hanya Bananya and Lollipop followed by the happy couple Sugar (Kellie) & BoBo (Bob). Everyone but the groom was a professional clown, but it didn’t take Bob long to transform into his Happy Hobo character “BoBo”, nor did it take long for the guests to enjoy the silly spin Bob and Kellie had surprised them with.

Before the ceremony, family members were brought up from both sides and were presented with Big Ties for the guys and Big Sunglasses for the gals to wear. With Korki officiating; the happy couple exchanged vows to love, cherish and keep each other’s funny bones well oiled.

The guests and crowd of curious passer bye’s, which had increased in numbers cheered in joy as Sugar and BoBo bumped a nose to make it official. It was now time to take pictures “Clown Style”, as BoBo and Sugar passed a bag of foam clown noses around giving their guests permission to pick their own noses.Chuckles could be heard everywhere, as all participated and posed in good FUN with their new noses. What a wonderful way to start a new beginning….with a SMILE.

Please have a peek at the Youtube slide show of the wedding.

I Do! Exhibit
September 6th – October 13th, 2014

I Do Image

Summer lovin’ may be winding down at the end of August, but it will be heating up here at the White Rock Museum & Archives.

I Do! The Wedding Stories of White Rock takes a look at 13 couples who have called White Rock and the Semiahmoo Peninsula home at some point in their lives. From a few weeks of marriage to several decades, each couple shares their secrets to nuptial bliss. For some, it is the gesture of kindness. For others, it is the importance of financial planning and stability for the long haul. But for everyone, it is the promise of living each day to the fullest and being grateful for having each other in their lives.

In addition, many of the brides have loaned their gowns for visitors’ enjoyment. From a 1950s blue dress suit to a poufy 80s number, we’ve got it all. Even a white tuxedo!

The exhibit will run from September 6th to October 13th, 2014. We hope you will show us your love by coming down and seeing the exhibit!

With thanks to our sponsors: The City of White Rock, BMO Bank of Montreal – Semiahmoo Branch (2014 Event Napkin Sponsor), Peace Arch News (2014 Print Media Sponsor), and Charlie Don’t Surf Restaurant (2014 Reception Sponsor).
